You are in for a great outdoor experience in Colorado Springs this week if you happen to visit this picturesque town this time of year. Hotel in Colorado Springs are welcoming one and all in the lead up to these memorable events. Here’s a look at some of those events and happenings in and around Colorado Springs this week.

The herd of Texas Longhorn cattle, belonging to the Searle Ranch, lead the annual National Western Stock Show parade as it makes it’s way up 17th Avenue on January 7, 2016 in Denver, Colorado. Along with the cattle were horseback riders, cowboys and cowgirls, the Westernaires, and antique tractors. The parade was led by Grand Marshal Rich Karlis, a former Denver Broncos’ place-kicker. Denver’s Opening Parade:

From Thursday till Sunday, the iconic white Denver Broncos mascot will lead the “National Western Stock Show” & Radio Parade of Longhorn cattle, horses and western wagons through Denver’s downtown for the opening parade at noon. This event begins this Saturday and runs through Jan 21 at 4655 Humboldt St.

Pottery Fest:

If you are a fan of Pottery, you can head to Commonwheel Artist’s Co-op’s Pottery by the pound at Manitou Springs. You can find featured items at discounted prices where guest artists clear their inventory and sell pottery seconds and prototypes. This events runs through January 28 from 10:00 A:M to 6:00 PM daily at 102 Canon Avenue, Manitou Springs.

 

Broadmoor Event:

An unforgettable musical showcase in the form of 19th annual U.S International Duo piano competition at the Broadmoor hotel in Colorado Springs is up for grabs all weekend beginning this Friday till Sunday. Professional level artists are featured at 7 P.M Friday.

Jazz Nites:

You just cannot miss the popular Colorado Springs Conservatory Jazz Nites at 7:30 p.m. at Lawrence Dryhurst Gallery, 1222 E. Kowa St. The concert by Wayne Wilkinson’s trio with Andy Burtschi and Todd Williams would a great experience this weekend. A small $15 fee includes wine and “small bites.”

 

 

Theatre Day for Kiddos:

If you are with your kids aged 6-13, you have one more opportunity for an Annie Day Camp for kiddos in that age bracket. The kids will have great theater experience and get a chance to tour the theater, meet the cast and have a dance class.

 

Ice Skating in Acacia Park:

This winter, dress up in white and blue with you ice skates and have a great time during the winter wonderland downtown at Acacia Park from 2-5 PM this Sunday. You get $1 off as well if you’re dress in white and blue.

Colorado Springs is a great place to be this holiday Season, you are in for a lot of surprises if you love city activities other than the traditional Garden of Gods & Pikes Peak. Make an early trip this month and stay at one of the hotel in Colorado Springs.
